Bio

Nora Snyder is an independent artist and animator living in Kansas City, MO. Originally from rural Illinois, she is the middle of three sisters in a midwestern small town family. She developed an interest in stop motion and experimental animation working on projects in her mom’s basement. During these years, she also attended community college and worked as a caregiver for elderly patients. In 2021, she moved to Kansas City to pursue an education at the Kansas City Art Institute, where she continued to make stop motion films and also developed an interest in sculpture and video installations. She received a BFA in animation from KCAI in 2024 and is currently a studio resident at Charlotte Street Foundation, where she is working on independent stop motion animated short films and installation projects.
